GLACIERS PROVIDE AN ANTI-AGEING SOLUTION STORY
A hectic lifestyle and constant stress means many people fall short of the recommended 7-9 hours’ sleep per night. Not only does sleep deprivation make us look tired over the short term, over the long term it also plays a part in ageing. One of the consequences is the cellular production of proteins that are badly formed in terms of structure, which are therefore unable to perform their task, resulting in cell damage. A glacier expedition to assess the consequences of the continuous shrinkage of glaciers in the past few decades, led to the discovery of microbes, previously hidden below a permanent layer of ice, in crevasses that have now become accessible. Genome sequencing of the newly-discovered life forms, led to the identification of a microbe that had been reawakened after lying dormant below the perennial ice layer for many years.
The precious active ingredient obtained from the glacial microbe rejuvenates the skin by helping to stimulate the chaperone proteins that assist in the correct formation of other proteins, effectively preventing skin ageing.
The active ingredient reduces stress and stimulates energy production and, on the skin, it reduces wrinkle-depth and boosts radiance, for a visibly less tired appearance.
