PROFESSIONAL APPLICATION

  1. Prep – Perform a manicure, gently push back the cuticle and shape the free edge with a 240-grit file. Cleanse the natural nail with CND™ ScrubFresh®.
  2. Base Coat – Apply a thin layer of CND™ SHELLAC® Base Coat, sealing the free edge, and cure using Preset 1 in the CND™ Lamp.
  3. Colour – Apply two thin layers of CND™ SHELLAC® Colour Coat, sealing the free edge and curing each layer separately using Preset 2S.
  4. Top Coat – Apply CND™ SHELLAC® Top Coat, seal the free edge and cure using Preset 3.
  5. Finish – Remove the top film with 99% IPA and complete the service with CND™ SolarOil™.

Step-by-step: how to apply CND Shellac

Achieve a flawless, long-lasting Shellac manicure by following these industry-approved steps.

Perform a manicure

Hand preparation

  • Ask the client to wash their hands with soap and running water for 20–30 seconds, then towel dry.
  • Apply and massage COOLBLUE™ Hand Cleanser into the hands.

Old product removal

  • If necessary, remove any existing polish using OFFLY FAST™ Moisturizing Remover and a plastic-backed lint-free pad.

Nail shaping

  • Trim nail length as needed.
  • Shape the free edge of each nail with a 240-grit nail file.

Cuticle work

  • Gently lift and loosen any non-living tissue with a cuticle pusher.
  • Use a curette to remove any remaining tissue on the nail plate.
  • If required, use manicure nippers to trim hangnails or loose skin.

Cleanse & dehydrate

  • Cleanse and temporarily dehydrate the nail plate using SCRUBFRESH™ on a lint-free, plastic-backed pad.

Base coat application

  • Apply a thin, even layer of CND Shellac Base Coat.
Cure 10 seconds — CND LED Lamp

Colour coat application

  • Apply a thin layer of your chosen CND Shellac Colour Coat.
  • Apply a second coat.
Cure 1 minute after each coat — CND LED Lamp

  • Apply a thin layer of CND Shellac Top Coat.

Final cleanse

  • Use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free wipe to remove the sticky top film (inhibition layer). The Shellac manicure is now glossy and fully set.
